Wiz Khalifa aka Cameron Jibril Thomaz, stage name derived from wisdom and shortened to Wiz and khalifa, an Arabic word meaning “successor” has set the hip-hop world on fire and blazed a trail of success since releasing his hit single “Black and Yellow” in 2011.  The Pittsburgh native started his career at the age of 16 releasing his first independent mix tape “Prince of the City – Welcome to Pistolvania.” Indy label Rostrum Records (Mac Miller) recognized his amazing talent and signed Khalifa to release his first full length album “Show and Prove” in 2006. This album helped pave the way for his success but it wasn’t an easy road. In 2007 he joined Warner Bros. Records and released two mix tapes that created an underground buzz but failed to capture commercial attention. Things fizzled with Warner but in 2009 Atlantic Records realized his potential along with Rostum Records and signed Khalifa to a new contract.

His work ethic, perseverance and talent as a lyricist shined through on his breakthrough album “Deal or No Deal” earning him the honor of being named MTV’s Hottest Breakthrough MC of 2010. The following year his major label debut and instant classic “Rolling Papers”  ingited his career. Other hits like “Remember You” featuring The Weekend and other collaborations with artists like Snoop Dogg, Mac Miller, Juicy J and 2 Chainz on his most recent release O.N.I.F.C  has solidified his status as one of hip-hops hottest artists.
