The Post-Hardcore band SECRETS hit the road to kick off their “Everything That Got Us Here” Tour
Signed to Velocity / Rise Records in 2011, the 4-piece post-hardcore band SECRETS have fought through adversity and gone through a few lineup changes to solidify their sound. The band kicked off a new tour this past week at The Boardwalk in Sacramento, CA with Palisades, Too Close To Touch and Picturesque.
As the lights dimmed, the crowd erupted as SECRETS took the stage at the intimate venue in Northern California. The audience was immediately gripped by the presence and towering figure of Wade Walters who is an absolute powerhouse on harsh vocals and bass.
Walters presence and style is a dynamic contrast but engaging compliment to the melodic pitch and laid back charisma of lead singer Richard Rogers, who we had a chance to interview before the show. Other players, Michael Sherman (lead guitar) can shred with the best of them and drummer Joe English was in beast mode behind the kit.
With songs like “Rise Up” and “Left Behind,” you can hear the progression in the band’s songwriting and arrangements since their first album release. Minus a few technical glitches, (mad respect to the band’s Tour Manager Cam Birchill who also hustled throughout the night to soundcheck, stage manage, shoot photo and play backup guitar on a few tracks) opening night was a success in our opinion.
