Rockstardreams.com was a proud sponsor and media partner to a showcase hosted by our friends at The Catalyst Publicity Group and Third String Productions this past week at South by Southwest in Austin, TX.

The Aquariam Bar on 6th Street was our home for the day and featured some killer performances from emerging artists  including Night Argent, OWEL, Myke Terry, Odd Folks, Marco Pave, Protagonist, SYKES, The News Can Wait, Reckless Serenade, LUXXE and The Skulx.

Ohio natives, The Skulx had to be our favorite overall performance. The hard rocking 4-piece was like watching Jim Bean knock out Jack Daniels over whose mustache was better while throwing back a shot of Jameson. Lead singer, Alex Nauth stepped on a stool and literally took over the bar at one point. Add a little dirt, gritty guitars, heavy drums and a trumpet for kicks and these gentleman were pure rock n’ roll.

Hip-hop artist, Marco Pave provided a refreshing dose of thoughtful and socially conscience lyrics behind dope beats while Night Argent, OWEL and SYKES were a few of our other favorites. British electro-pop rockers SYKES lead vocalist’s musicianship was an unexpected and pleasant surprise. Especially when she stepped back from the mic and keys to shred on guitar.

The night closed out with the smooth sounds of R&B artist Myke Terry, who is just a cool cat, followed by punk rockers Protagonist.  These guys also slayed at the Smart Punk and Cyber Tracks Records showcase. Overall it was a rad experience and we were happy to help provide a platform for these artists to jam at South by.  Thanks to everyone who came out, we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Stay tuned for more artist interviews and performances rolling out over the next week.

-Much love from Team RSD
