In music world saturated with parody and new songs released on a daily basis via some social media platform it is harder and harder for artists to remain relevant and cutting edge with their sound with so much competition.

However, artists like Drake have found a formula for success and sound that continues to connect with audiences around the work.  Drake’s recent release “One Dance” remains atop of the hot 100 for the 5th week in a row and his album Views continues to reach platinum status after releasing What A Time to Be Alive and If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late just a year prior.  Drake is also the first male artist to hold the top spot on the Hot 100 and Billboard 200 at the same time for four consecutive weeks since 50 Cent in 2005.

Drizzy stays writing and he stays in the studio always seeking out new collaborations and beats to build upon.  Songs aside, it proves work ethic is the key to long term success. A lot of hip-hop artists and artists in general tend to settle on one hit song, chart tour then fade into obscurity a few years later. You have to stay writing and continue to strive to capture lightning in a bottle if you want to stay relevant in the music business.

Take notes, Drake is definitely on top of his game.

“I’ve had visions of this life since I was Jimmy and now all I gotta do is go get it… and now we blowing up.”
