Tupac Shakur will officially be immortalized along side Pearl Jam, Joan Baez, Journey, Nile Rodgers, YES and the Electric Light Orchestra on April 7th, 2017 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY.

One of the most influential artists and icons in music history, Tupac Shakur also knows as 2Pac, will be inducted into the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The controversial hip-hop artist has been permanently cemented in pop culture history with one of the highest honors an artist can receive.

His sophomore album All Eyez On Me was one of my very first hip-hop records and it stayed in constant rotation throughout my youth.  It is still one of my favorite albums of any genre.

Tupac is one of the greatest rappers of all time, if not the greatest. He blended socially conscious lyrics with hardened street anthems and a distinctive vocal style that inspired generations of hip-hop artists and music fans. He has sold over 75 million records to date and will no doubt continue to sell post-mortem.

“His naked emotion and fearless personal revelation were a direct influence on MCs from Eminem to Kendrick Lamar. ‘Every rapper who grew up in the ’90s owes something to Tupac,’ wrote 50 Cent in Rolling Stone, paying tribute to Shakur as one of the 100 Greatest Artists Of All Time.” – www.rockhall.com

The young hip-hop artist rose to super star status in the early 90’s after signing to Death Row Records, which tragically and ironically foreshadowed his own death sentence. He was fatefully gunned down in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1996 at the age of 25.
