Roland debuted their latest lineup of electronic V-Drums.
The TD-17 series of Roland’s electronic V-Drums are just as much fun to play as they are to listen to.
We knew it was going to be a good day and an even better night as we watched super producer Terry Lewis (Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Rod Stewart) back in his brand new Telsa SUV while we waited in line outside of the Roland offices to scarf down Baby’s Badass Burgers (and, they were).
And, so were the lineup of drum kits and accessories. The TD-25 and TD-50’s sounded great as special guest drummers Michael Schack, Luke Holland, Jordan West, and legendary drummer Vinnie Colaiuta threw down at the launch party for Roland’s new Artist Center during #TotallyDrums.
The sound system rivaled the drum quality as each drummer performed a unique set that really showcased the range and capabilities of the V-Drums. The sounds and looping options were flawless. Whether you’re recording in the studio or taking the new V-drums out on the road, Roland has outdone themselves with the agile TD-17 and improved upon its legacy counterparts.
“The TD-17 is for players who are serious about drumming; with flagship TD-50 sound quality, newly developed pads, sample import and deep editing for custom kit creation, and onboard training tools to sharpen your skills—all infused with the legendary V-Drums feel, expressiveness, and durability.” – Roland
It was an electric event and a great debut for a new line that will add to the arsenal of an already thriving music gear manufacturer. The new line of drums certainly has our approval and are the best electronic drums on the market for the money in our opinion. We look forward to hearing what they roll out with next.
