Lil Wayne has settled his lawsuit with Universal Music Group and Cash Money Records.
After years of on-again, off-again feuding with Baby and Cash Money Records, rapper Lil Wayne can finally put the past behind him and release Tha Carter V.
Lil Wayne and his attorney have reached an agreement with parent company Universal Music Group for over $10 million dollars. UMG will still release the new album while terminating his contract with Cash Money Records.
Lil Wayne has been fairly quiet the last couple of years as a new wave of rappers who were clearly influenced by Weezy’s style and music have started to take over the charts.
The Carter is back. This record will no doubt be a new classic as Lil Wayne has had time to chew on beats and contemplate life-changing situations including the beef with Cash Money. It will be interesting to see how he responds. In the meantime, his boy Drake has been holding down the team and crushing Spotify records for the Young Money. We can’t wait for Tha Carter V to be released. We are all witnesses.
