The Vans Warped Tour has spanned over three decades and has been a launching pad for some of the biggest artists in rock, punk and pop culture.

Blending a punk rock attitude with skate culture, Founder Kevin Lyman loaded up a few stages and skate ramps and hit the road with a few unknown bands back in 1994 named  No Doubt and Sublime and created the now iconic Vans Warped Tour.

Lasting partnerships with Vans and Journey’s along with cleverly curated lineups over the years have helped the multi-city tour have staying power.  Vans Warped Tour has helped launch the mainstream careers of artists like Green Day, Eminem, Fall Out Boy, Katy Perry, Hatebreed, MGK, Bring Me The Horizon and so many more.

We sat down with Lyman at his 4fini, Inc offices to discuss his backstory on how he got his start in the Hollywood clubs in 1980’s, the people who have influenced him and why he chose to keep pushing forward in the music industry after coming to a crossroad.
